Three Suppliers - Various Plans

One of the most commonly applied employee benefits in the market place, which comes in various options:

  • Hospital and Surgical only plans (includes related specialist tests)
  • Hospital and Surgical and added "regardless" specialists and tests plans
  • Added Doctors and Prescriptions
  • Added Optometrists and Dental plans
  • Natural Therapy options (some providers)
  • Cover for other treatments such as Chiropractors, Osteopath etc
  • Specialist Optical plans as a separate provider.
  • There are two main groups:
  • Voluntary groups: where a number of employees of a company get together and get a minor discount from the retail pricing - Normally no cover for pre-existing issues is offered regardless of number.
  • Compulsory Group: where the employer pays the premium for the minimum cover (or higher cover) and there are enough members in the group. Typically group sizes can be looked at from a minimum of 5 employees, but cover for pre-existing conditions does not happen until over 25+ employees are involved in a "compulsory group" (conditions apply).
