We offer a range of healthcare plans - from surgical only to comprehensive plans that provide for a range of healthcare needs. The aim is always to find a happy balance between cost and cover, so that health insurance is both useful and affordable. Are all health insurance plans the same? There are different plan types that are likely to suit people in different circumstances. Almost all plans will cover surgical hospitalisation. Many also cover costs associated with specialist visits and high-cost diagnostics. Some plans provide cover for day-to-day treatment and options for dental and optical cover. Some health insurance plans are modular, which means you can build your own plan around the type of treatment you want cover for. There are other variations too. You can opt for an "extensive cover" plan that can meet all of the costs associated with many types of treatment (sometimes referred to as a 100% plan). These plans sometimes offer "excess" options where you pay a fixed amount for treatment you receive. There are also "shared cover" plans where you will normally share the cost of your treatment based on a schedule of reimbursements or the reimbursement of a percentage of your treatment costs. The type of treatment you have cover for, "extensive" versus "shared" cover, and your excesses all affect the premiums you pay for your health insurance. Generally speaking, the larger the range and level of reimbursements in your plan, the higher your premiums.
